Hi,

there is

Code:
/user/share/application/defaults.list
which defines default apps for special file formats.

Do you know how to extend this list with a new entry while installing a deb package? Is it ok to just ">>" something to this list, or does a command exists for this job?

define mimetypes in desktop file, it will be added automatically
to make it default use xdg-mime
