Is there a free way to do that?

Sorry, I did not realize Radiostation wasn't free. I for sure did not pay anything for installing it. Ask Mr Google, he will surely find you a solution

Hmmm tried radiostation once but I didn't work. Was I doing something wrong?
Also don't remember paying for it...

I remember playing with that a few years ago, I even made a handy script for that kind of stuff, I sadly can't find it anymore but I remember the important part, just type this in the terminal, it will make your N900 record from the microphone with arecord, with the output being instantly played back from the pipeline with aplay:

arecord | aplay

Then you simply activate the FM transmitter.

I know that no one listens or cares but I'd just like to bring your attention to a nifty app recently added to extras-devel: QMegaphone. It does exactly what the OP asks for and makes Radiostation redundant (along with pretty much everything else in OVI Store).

That's it, sorry about the noise. Now I'll shut up again...

tsk tsk
Hahaha..
Most definitely "No One" cares...yet to meet the guy though...

And of course.... "people" don't care Pichlo...

We...however...are not "people"..
we are maemoians ...
and as a consequence are interested and do care.
I personally think it is a way-cool app.
and I think those who "thank you'd" are proof of that...

hmm...there is however the glass half empty possibility that perhaps they are not thanking you for that....but thanking you for shutting up

Um...hmm...My words of encouragement may not be helping...I'll join you and shut up too.
