If the vibration is felt, and the tune is heard after the old screen is put back on, it is most certainly the new screen. However, I have never heard of a malfunctioning screen causing these issues before.
Yes, I did attach back the old screen, felt the vibration and heard the startup tune. That's why I'm completely puzzled why when I attach the new screen I get none of the above. Just the notification LED lights up for a few seconds then goes dead.
