I agree that 16GB is most probably too little, so maybe the entry-level should be 32GB. I definitely want at least 64G and more, but would find it difficult to justify to pay more than 50eur for the larger memory.
Jolla had it right in their scheme, pay just a little bit more for more memory (maybe just the real mfg. costs difference)
Apple goes the other way and and charges hundreds of euros for the maximum memory which I would not like to support.

About colours; yes, the red one looks candy and is really desirable. If you had bright green as an alternative I'd be really torn between them

As long as it isn't shiny... I like it in black. Most people do by the way (just look at the TOHKBD2 order list).
As for memory, 16GB is too low for a starting level. 32GB is the bare minimum in my opinion.
Why go for three flavours at all? This only adds complexity to the situation of getting to a finshed productline.
64GB and 128GB are perfect as long as the ability to expand by using an SD card is available.

Scope is creeping...

16GB is more than enough if you don't store all sorts of junk on internal memory, but use an SD card for storage.
I think it's an excellent idea, to offer a budget alternative for those of us who just want a surf/communication tablet.
I don't think I have ever used more than 8-10 GB internal memory on my JP1.

Something like that?
For me - the best colour would be full Transparent.
Protypes are often made transparent, to sse inside, if all mechanical parts are on the correct place.
it would be so cool, if we could have it transparent. it looks so geekish and diy-sh

But i will be happy with full black also.

The back side of the jolla tablet is metal, so don't get your hopes up for a transparent version. Would be cool, though.

I've opened it some time before - I think the back was fully metallic.

I'm a bit disappointed; there was no transparent tablet behind your link
