two things, ssu is not cssu, cssu is alive and updated. and if you are really stuck you can *temporarily* compile newer glib statically into mc. same for ncurses.

Coincidentally, I prepared an updated version on ncurses some time ago to fix the Error opening terminal: xterm-256color problem.
I posted about it in the CSSU devel thread and received some replies, but then nothing happened.
I believe if the version I prepared is uploaded it will also cause libncursesw5 to become available in the archive and solve the problem with mc built with ncurses not being installable.

just flashed and installed cssu-stable. mc is still not installable with only cssu and extras :/
