Hi there!

I recently bought a N9, and I am loving it, although there is one thing that is bugging me. I bought the phone second hand, and the person who was selling it bought it from optus. The phone has been unlocked by optus, so I can use my own sim card, but since it is the optus model, it has some 'features' still on it. The main one is the "'yes' optus" logo. Whenever I lock the phone, it shows up right underneath the clock, this is the main feature I would like to remove, as I am not even using optus as my carrier :/ The second is a bunch of links to sections of the optus zoo website that are stuck on the homepage, and I can't delete them. (I have put them all into one optus folder)

Here are some photos:

Sorry they are a bit blurry, but you get the idea.

If anyone has suggestions/solutions they would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :-)

I entered "n9 replace logo" in a big search engine.
The first hit was http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=79210 . The third hit was http://forum.dailymobile.se/index.php?topic=57010.0 .

Please first search before opening new threads. Thanks!

Well, thats kind of an embarrassing start to these forums, I swear I searched everywhere to find that. I was probably being to specific in my search terms, as I thought it was something that optus had done to the OS, not something that was built in. (I am new to my N9 after all ) Thanks anyway though.

Also you can take screenshots from your N9.

From Nokia Store, install ''ScreenshotMee''

You don't really need to flash the phone... there are easier ways to remove it (or replace it with your own).

In store: http://store.ovi.com/content/214496

With this app you can remove it completely or just add your own.

There is another app in this forum, called N9 QuickTweak. Try search (need developer mode and some basic skills with terminal)

Reflashing with a Country variant of PR1.2 would be a much better solution to be perfectly honest.

It will remove the Logo crap and ALL the operator applications and any settings or 'features' that are operator specific

It just aint a unlocked phone if it has Carier software on it :P

Perhaps you are right, flashing WOULD be the best option, but the way he started this thread I really doubt he is able to do it.

You can remove it with the app called fLPMC, the icon is orange with the text "LPMC"

Can you not talk about me like that? Your kinda acting like I am a complete idiot. -_-
I have undertaken a few mods to my phone already, and I am capable of following a guide on how to do it if I need to reflash my phone.

Thankyou.
