Im relatively new on N900 and i desperately need help.
I'm german and have a german N900 with german Qwertz keybd.
I played around with PrBoom and now all the "blue keys" are messed up.
When i switch to swiss keyboard layout everything is ok as they use the same layout. Switching back to German layout brings the mess back.
I get € instead of ? and $ instead of ! and many other changes.
Please tell me how to fix this. Can I somehow copy the swiss layout into the german locale or how can I fix this? Please I dont want to reflash it...pls help thx

I think PrBoom did something like is described here:
http://wiki.maemo.org/Documentation/...ting_UI_Inputs

coz i have a file /home/user/int_keyb_layout with contens: de

and then failed to clean up.

I tried

usr/bin/gconftool-2 -s /apps/osso/inputmethod/int_kb_layout de -t string

but it did not change anything.

With keyboard set to german about half of the fn keys are in wrong position. The normal white keys seem all to be right.

When I switch to swiss keyboard layout all is fine ... but if i mess that up too im lost hehe

Please someone must know how to reset my keymap.... HALP HALP

Can you check the contents of this gconf-key with

Code:
/usr/bin/gconftool-2 -g /apps/osso/inputmethod/int_kb_layout
and post the result here.

regards
Nicolai

I am beginning to suspect that I bought a swiss N900.

Can someone confirm the swiss keyboard is actually totally identical to the german?
Esp the fn keys?

Or can someone post a clear pic of a german keyboard pleasde where the blue fn symbols/chars are clearly discernible?

thanks

OK this thread can be closed.
I obviously got a swiss N900.

Mine has a slightly different layout of the function keys than this german N900.
Fn keys of yxäüö are different and the middle row fn to the right of the s are shifted to the side...

edit, found this here on the forum:

I guess its what u get when you buy as cheap as possible. But since all needed keys are there I don't really mind/care. I did not even notice it for 3 weeks.....
