What is the Maemo community up to for FOSDEM 2010 (Brussels, 6-7/feb)

The time to organize the basics is right now.

Thinking of it maemo.org really brings many communities together. This matches very well with the new ideas of FOSDEM to increase cross project interaction.

Apparently we fit in all categories I see here and we should definitely be omnipresent at this great event

The call for maemo developer for the schedule app is also a great opportunity to showcase the many aspects of maemo.

In the qgil's link above you can state your interest please do so.

There is some grumbling in the debian community about the change from dev rooms to distro rooms, and I agree. The dev rooms were crowded, but you could have talks in them which is what they were used for. Now one doesn't know the layout or acoustics of the distro rooms but I doubt we'll have the same opportunity for maemo only talks, or we'll have to take turns in the various distros talking, which might not be so great.

Hopefully FOSDEM will provide us with both the older dev rooms and the newer distro rooms so that we can have dedicated tracks, be they debian, maemo, or whatever.

Cool! We need more to reach critical mass though.

Can someone not busy with the Maemo-Marcelona Long Weekend push this forward? I don't have more mental RAM available and it would be a pity to miss important deadlines because of this.

I can help a bit, but I'm not sure what's needed, since I missed most of the discussion around it.
I can't compromise with the organization right now, because I don't know if I'll be able to attend. I hope to start my professional activity outside University around that date and don't know where yet .
Anyway I'll try to find a voluntary to coordinate this initiative .

Valerio found a volunteer - I can help co-ordinate with the FOSDEM organisers & ensure that we have some facilities available (who has been in contact up until now? Can they put me in direct contact?) - I'd like help co-ordinating the content & attendees from the Maemo community side of things, though.

Dave.

Let's do it differently. Given the current people interested and what you think we can grow in terms of interest, what do you propose to do in FOSDEM?
