Too bad it's only Mer (and Mer is dead, do they know that?).

But I guess it's a step in the right direction if anyone actually gets MeeGo running on the N8x0.

Which has host? The older Archos 500 did, but the newer ones I thought did not have a true host function? I only use mine for video, since sound is a weak volumed, low quality mess. N900 is FAR better in sound quality. Not even same world.

Similar chipset, so no performance advantage..... Not sure what good Maemo is for the Archos 5. I have a 250gb version.

Archos 5 Android has full USB out, mini usb, TV video out and extra battery with the battery dock. I have it.

When you plug a hub in you can add a USB mouse and keyboard and it works straight away with a cursor appearing. Its pretty awesome.

Yeah but it runs natively at 800mhz.

Many reasons but mostly because Meego has very similar goals.

hmmm there is still a question .. how can the archos 5 gen6 and gen7 play 720p (especially the gen6 since same processor) while our n900 can't ??
