Edit /home/user/.config/tracker/tracker.cfg, add /home/music to WatchDirectoryRoots so that the tracker indexes files in that directory. Then they are playable via mediaplayer

What is the best way for the media player on the N900 to access files in an ext3 partition? I want to have all my files on home/music. Is this even possible?
I tried searching, but don't have the time to read through all the threads, so any help is very appreciated.
