wouldnt it be cool if, when in a program, you could long press on the task switcher button to get to the desktop? this would be easier imo than the current way where you gotta push it once then push the empty space on the dashboard. good idea, or not?

Maybe task switcher not showing time and statusbar icons like in desktop? There is space for it. Would be nice to get to statusbar from fullscreen app by showing task switcher instead of toggling fullscreen or going to desktop (=extra step from task switcher). Anyone seen this idea in bugzilla enhancement or brainstorm?

have you tried camkeyd? its an app that allows you to switch to the taskswitcher dashboard with a half-press of the camera key. i wonder if it could be extended to allow for long-press to take you to desktop. would that solve your problem?

yeah it's handy to know alright.

i wish that it would also work in reverse like it does in win7. after going to desktop it would be cool if you could do it again to get back to the same app you were working in. this would be really handy for checking on widgets and getting back to your app quickly!

It's possible, just not very convenient yet.

I think it should be possible - he does provide the source and things too.
If you're looking for something more native there's lighthttpd - I don't know how usable it is, though.
