News about N920

This thread is about N920 reports.

N920 has no hardware keyboard.

OMAP3 cores are said to be working their way into the lineup following a Cortex A8-based introduction in the N900
Release date around mid 2010

Something about Maemo 5, N900 screen-shots and some information about N920...

Well, the second link's concept drawing is just that, I don't even see what it actually has to do with a planned N920 -- it seems just speculation and "if-I-were-to-design-a-phone" fantasizing.

I do not see, architengi, where you get even speculation that the N920 is not going to have a hardware keyboard. (I guess there's an obscure reference to it in the link you posted in Post #3.)

If N900 has Office (Word docx, Excel xlsx, Powerpoint) only in read mode and Ovi Maps with no voice guidance, N920 will have full document editing capabilities and full Ovi Maps.

no voice guidance is a function of maemo5 (i think) rather than the hardware, if its going to be in 920 im sure they'll add it to the n900

Yes, I think the upgrade to Ovi Maps "voice guidance" will be available on N900 once the firmware upgrade will resolve the licensing. The upgrade will come with a monthly subscription, thougth. DRM also needs to be added in the firmware of Maemo 5, in order to run OVI STORE application downloads. I am not sure if DRM will be added for music on Maemo ever, because Nokia Music Store will renounce on DRM for the music files.

I think editting of Office documents is also a Maemo OS thing, not a hardware issue. And I thought it was confirmed that the n900 will be getting the Maemo 6 OS anyway?

Mid 2010 should be interesting (when I'm planning on getting the n900). If the successor is out I might consider it. Though I would take a hardware keyboard over a better camera and even a capictative touchscreen if the n920 was keyboardless.

i think the n900 remain top of the line for maemo5, anything else will just be a new form factor
