The port of Eboard to Diablo has now been completed. Eboard for OS2008 should now be available in your Application Manager or via the Maemo.org web site in the OS2008 downloads section. There is still more work to be done. If you see any bugs please report them to:

Thanks

Bruce!

I can't believe I'm just now seeing your post on this. How did that happen?

Hey, good job on getting sound (only beeps though) working.

So what's left on your agenda for Eboard and congrats on this latest release!

I've been using eboard for quite some time on my N810. Makes me wonder where I got it from. I guess directly from your site and not through Extras.

You were probably playing with the old OS2007 port.

I have updated http://wiki.maemo.org/Chess#OS2008 to reflect the new situation. Thanks for your chess work!

I'm running eboard 1.0.3 and the Crafty engine.
I'll check out this new port as well of course.

I don't have much on my agenda for eboard yet. Here is my list so far in priority order:
1. Finish fixing sound.
2. Clean up GUI's.
3. When fullscreen button is pressed make chessboard as large as possible by maximizing vertical space usage.

Hey Bruce, is there a way to keep the sound channel open at all times?

Otherwise customed audio files are going to lag and start late if it has to boot up media player each time a new sound is to be played.

Best of luck with the upcoming revision.

It's been awhile since I installed Crafty but try this.

Crafty

In Xterm:
root
cd /media/mmc1
dpkg -i crafty_20.9_armel.deb

Ukki's Scid port came with Togall, Phalynx and Scidlet but I haven't tried those yet with Eboard.

Peer->Play against engine-> Crafty

I believed it automagically shows up as an engine to select without any work on the user's end.

You should also check out Ukki's Scid port.

It's a pretty hefty package to install though.

Cheers!

I forgot to mention, you can also get more chess pieces and boards with Eboard since the default ones sort of blows chunks.

Extras
