Chipsets based on the Cortex-A15 (Krait, too) support LPAE, and so can already address more than the 32-bit limit. The old A8/A9 didn't, but they're getting old now.

you couldnt be more wrong about 32bit linux...and windows is a shitty, closed OS, worth only for those games not working under wine, that is so limited it wont detect even 4gb of ram in its 32bit iteration...

....so no real benefits of going 64-bit then?
All I can think of is GTA:V type of games on new iPads, sooner than much later.

I think going 64-bit would be more beneficial for Android (v5.0 Lemon Pie) as its a more complex OS which tries to do a lot more (processing) at once. But it would be right at home for the like of Mer/Maemo/MeeGo/openSUSEARM/UbuntuARM... which can utilize that extra grunt for desktop-strength computing.
