A noob here.

How can i VNC as well as SSH my N9 using a USB port ?

The phone and pc are not on the same network (WiFi)
and if vnc thorugh 3G is an option will it not be very very slow ?

I'm planning to attempt the way explained here for N900

cant say much will it work or not for now, will try when i get home

If you enable Developer mode in the Security section a SSH server and x11VNC wil be installed.
using the SDK connectivity tool you can then start and stop the ssh and vnc server over wifi or USB.

In my old Linux Mint 9 install it works perfectly. The USB networking is also automatically configured using network manager (i think the N9 enables a DHCP server when you select USB mode in the SDK connectivity tool). Installation takes a few minutes, but it is really, really simple after that.

Correct but i had to install Qt SDK with minimum settings to allow USB networking, after that updated the new network connection to b able to connect my N9
Now i can vnc my N9

thx

PS: if anybody else is having a problem i can provides detail steps

it would be helpfull, if explain how to connect N9 thru Windows using VNC??

PS: i have enabled developer mode, and instaleed xvnc in N9

I did this long time ago, dont remember much but

Install QT SDK from here
http://harmattan-dev.nokia.com/platform-sdk/

then plugin your n9 using USB, this will install your N9 networking
remember to plug in your N9 using dev mode.

you dont need xvnc, simply start SDK connect on your mobile (icon) hen select USB .. let it do the magic
Now click on VNC on mobile there ...
