My /home filesystem suffered a big dose of corruption so I'm trying to restore sanity by forcing a reinstall of every application. This probably happened ages ago, but I see now that all the Nokia repositories have gone away.

Specifically, I think I need "Nokia Applications". I believe "Nokia System Software Updates" has been replaced with CSSU, and presumably "Ovi" is as useless as it always was, but that still leaves me with a whole pile of applications that aren't installable. Things like mediaplayer and osso-backup, which are kinda important.

Is there a new location for this stuff? I get the impression from this post that this stuff should be on maemo.org, but I don't know where:

if it's filesystem corruption you better flash your device.
Even if you reinstall everything won't go back to normal.
It will become corrupt again and again till you fully flash your rootfs and emmc.

What about the question that I asked? Is there a new location for Nokia Applications or not?

For starters you might post your repository list for other to add to it. The file in question is /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list

Look around http://skeiron.org/repo/

This is where most maemo stuff is being replicated.

No. If it ever vanishes without any warning, we will be screwed into using unoficiall and illegal (this time ) mirrors or even torrent local copies.

Unless or belowed and wise beyond eternity Maemo management managed to get a breakthrough in negotiating rights to re-distribute it legally, in which case, feel free to correct me and add one or two tongue-in-cheeks combined with poison fangs. Which I doubt, as it would require at least starting such negotiations for serious, and they're too busy integrating Sailfish free promotional images into Maemo pages (see maemo facebook page), probably.

So the answer is basically "No, Nokia Applications has gone away for good." Fair enough. It's a dead platform.

Skeiron.org sounded like it would be a good option, but the key seems to have expired and apt-get won't let me use it. So I guess I'll just live without it.

Thanks for the help.

Don't be silly.

The key expiry produces a warning, not an error. Just ignore it.

Oh yes, you're right, it works fine. I was confused by the way "apt-get update" describes it as an error rather than a warning.

This'll be fine for me. Thanks!

Hi ,

as I have recently flashed my N900 (eMMC was apparently corrupted by modest), and reinstalled all without backup, I went through the pain of defining all repositories. And nokia binaries and apps are needed sometimes (for instance by libgles1 ). Here is the repository list that works for me today:
Code:
Nokia-N900:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list
deb http://repository.maemo.org/community/ fremantle free non-free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/community-testing/ fremantle free non-free
deb http://maemo.merlin1991.at/cssu/community-thumb/ fremantle free non-free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras/ fremantle-1.3 free non-free
deb http://extras-devel.merlin1991.at/ fremantle free non-free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras-testing/ fremantle free non-free
deb http://skeiron.org/repo/downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/apps ./
deb http://skeiron.org/repo/downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/mr0 ./
deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/sdk free non-free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/tools free non-free
