I showed my wife what I did, she said I am totally immature!

My immaturity:

F-F coupler $1.46 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2646
powered USB hub $6.50 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13526
keyboard $13.18 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7847

battery amplified PC speakers: any speakers $10

palmsize harddrive 160 G 2.5 in SATA $68.18
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822242006

Tekkeon MP1550 $29.37
http://www.buy.com/prod/tekkeon-mp15...206812375.html, not always able to wake up the harddrive but is more portable for only tablet/speaker/kb use

Black and Decker Power to go 100W $38.26
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-L...0271717&sr=8-6, bulkier, but would not run out of power for a couple of days with countinuous use, and is the ultimate power to wake up the harddrive

2700 mAH Li MH batteries X8 $29.70
http://cgi.ebay.com/8-MAHA-Powerex-A...1QQcmdZViewIte

Total Immaturity: $199

Hook up in any order is fine.
1) hook up the USB keyboard, PC speakers, harddrive (using the miniUSB) to the USB hub.
2) hook up the red end of the USB hub to the Tekkeon and turns on the Tekkeon.
3) Turns on the tablet and put up USBControl
4) plug the other tail of the USB Hub to the FF coupler then to the tablet.
This should turns on the USB host mode and everything will then be working....most of the time, if not, momentarily plug and unplug the tablet usb that will wake up the harddrive.

Waking up the hard drive is the most unreliable part of the procedure. Otherwise, this is a really really neat toy

This is NOT my recommended setup. This is the setup that is working! Price has changed tremendously in the last couple of month, especially palmsize harddrive, they are running in the $60 with namebrand. So shop around....again, these are the suggestions, NOT recommendations.

The Black and Decker, I ran the whole setup, surfing, kb, music continuously, and fell to sleep in a sweet dream, woke up in horror, worry that running out of power will kill the HD.........there is NOT EVEN ONE square (4 squares total) lost on the battery indicator, running 12 hrs continuously, kb, hd, blasting music, did not even touch the Black and Decker battery! POWER TO GO!

one question: why N810 not N800?
You don't have FM radio! Besides you already have the USB keyboard!

Good point. They both work, either N800 or N810. I just happened to have the N810 hook up. Here is the N800, even more simplier setup, using Tekkeon,

Just curious...why did you choose BOTH the Tekkeon and the Power-to-go? Would just the PTG be sufficient? I suppose the Tekkeon would not be enough to power the hard drive...but what about just the PTG?

It is a system in evolution. You do not need BOTH, either Tekkeon or PTG will do. I bought the Tekkeon first. And then I read about PTG. In fact, they are very comparable in $, but capacity wise, the tekkeon is not even close. However, the Tekkeon is like two cig lighters size, while the PTG is like 300 cig lighters. Size matters.

No. The Tekkeon is capable to wake up the harddrive. However, just like the 'shared folders', it is NOT consistently. The PTG is much more consistently, but it is heavier/bulkier. Me? Casual use, I carried the Tekkeon, on a plane, absolutely PTG. I have NOT seen it run down yet! I guess its capacity is way too big for the tablet :-) The PTG to the tablet is like running appliance in your house, you kind of forget/worry that your AC power MAY run low?! I have a feeling that watching videoes with the PTG would run days and days before one can run it down.
