I know there are card readers that flip the Removeable Media Bit so that cards appear as fixed disks under windows.

I'd like to do this on the n900 - I'm thinking it should be trivial to 'adjust' the mass storage script to do this, but I have no idea where to start - I don't even know where to find the script.

Any help would be appreciated!

http://www.linux-usb.org/gadget/file_storage.html

1. Open /usr/sbin/osso-usb-mass-storage-enable.sh
2. There you'll find this line:
Code:
/sbin/modprobe g_file_storage stall=0 luns=2 removable
Have fun trying, e.g. removing "removable" etc.

Thanks, good info I didn't know about gadgets etc.

But, no joy as far as results. The shell script runs once you select "mass storage mode". But the mmc and sd card appear on the host as soon as the USB cable is plugged in.. and they're already "removable" by then. This happens even if I delete the entire shell script file!

So obviously that setting is somewhere else....but where?
