I need the Yelp application, so that I can check-in, and on top of that, integration with Facebook so that a "check-in" on Yelp also shares on my Facebook.

Check-ins are good for sharing my location with friends, and also serves as a reminder for myself to write reviews for places I've visited, as all your check-ins are listed on the desktop Yelp website when you log in.

In fact, Yelp is the reason why I am still using my HTC Amaze over the N9... It's too bad that Alien Dalvik or whatever never came to fruition for end users, Harmattan's UI and the Feed screen are my favorite parts of the N9 (and the hardware itself) but I need those damn 'play' and 'useless' applications that Android has so many of.

CNN - there's CNN Go, but it centers around Asian news.
Angry Birds Space - no announcements for MeeGo but one for WP7
VLC - one with a proper UI and streaming
Instagram - I don't use it, but it's all the rage right now
WhatsApp - unofficial app is coming, but an integrated version (notices and history) would be killer w/ group support
Adobe Ideas - I need this app w/ layers
Adobe PDF - Official app - FB Reader does only so much
Google Voice - Nothing against the existing App, but would love proper integration with the notifications/history, it's how I stay under my monthly SMS bill and has been that way for years - this is persuading me to go back to Android or WP7 (GoVoice is excellent)
Hi gerbick, you might check out "Horus". It's pretty much a Pulse-clone. It's not quite as slick, but in general it seems to function pretty well.

and there are still some things that I found on the list, that individual would like to have at their N9, and already there even more apps that are already made for the Nokia N9, such as File Manager - "filebox" who made Matias Perez , which in my opinion better than the already proposed file manager for the other platforms.
and more to add, is it not better for your existing apps that are made for work on the N9 vote to change or add what will improve the application and not vote to create new applications from other platforms is similar to that already existing.
I feel as if the individual does not cost applications made by our devs.
As it is important to "TRICK"
When you have the other, and why does it on my phone.?

It would be great if you would take the time to list them. Even looking at all these posts we can see that it is not easy to go beyond the 25 popular brands + few sudden successes (that may or may not last) + few extra features.

A parallel exercise I'm (personally) interested about is to have a better idea of what is essential between the "thousands of apps" and the "hundreds of thousands of apps". What really matters, what is nice to have and what is pure junk (to avoid, actually).

Please keep the apps coming. I'm paying special attention to those listing existing apps because

a) It's easy to see what are we talking about.
b) It's easy to see what is their success in other platforms.
c) It's easy to contact the authors, if needed.
d) It's easy to point alternatives, comparing.
e) It's easier for someone to consider working in an alternative.

PLEASE CHECK THE WIKI PAGE BEFORE PROPOSING AN APP
http://www.developer.nokia.com/Commu...i/Apps_Missing

Sorry for the big fonts but I guess at this point everybody has understood that WhatsUpp, VNC player, etc would be nice to have. We really don't need a Chuck Norris - like thread as long as every post brings a new idea. Thank you!

It is possible that some users are not aware of all the apps available for the N9, even if they are interested in the exact same features. We can add those alternatives under the respective entries at the wiki page.

I miss some org-mode app, similar to mobileorg. That would be a killer app.

[* http://wiki.maemo.org/Rockbox ] - Rockbox, or any music player that support gapless playback (preferably the stock N9 player).
**Listening to classical music or dj mixes that are blended have 1 second gaps between track transitions which ruins the listening experience, and iphones have done it for years.

I just need a media player that does gapless audio playback. I would be content if I received nothing else for the N9 except this.

Any media player or app will be fine. I am begging at this point, it's been several devices and years. Just this one feature, please.

The N900 had Rockbox so unless there is a more suitable app I'll use that as my request.

I don't go App crazy, but here's what I've tried and liked on Android:

- Banking Applications (self explanatory), such as BofA, Citi, Chase, more. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...bm93LmJvZmEiXQ..

- Porn Sounds (the sounds are very good. I get a great laugh playing these in public settings). https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...9ybnNvdW5kcyJd

- Draw Something, a game by OMGPOP, turn-based pictionary game. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...AuZHN0cGFpZCJd

- Amazon MP3 store, though Nokia Music is going to be available in the US soon. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...WF6b24ubXAzIl0.

- Shazam (records music you are currently hearing, sends it to a server, and retrieves the song information. Very useful for new songs that you would like to download). https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...0uYW5kcm9pZCJd

- ShopSavvy - a bar code scanner that uses user-contributed price listings for online or brick and mortar stores to help you save money based on the scanned SKU to find the item. I've saved a lot of money using this application. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...aG9wc2F2dnkiXQ..

- Google Translate (I work in a Vitamin store, and although Chinese is my second language, it is not in the normal vocabulary set to know how to say 'thyroid,' 'Gymnema Sylvestre,' 'Acai Berry,' 'Collagen,' and more. While there ARE MeeGo apps that translate to Chinese, I can only read Chinese characters up to a 6th level grade, so most of the time I can't pronounce what is shown on the screen. Google Translate provides PinYin, a romanization that is easily read based on sounds rather than characters.) https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...RyYW5zbGF0ZSJd
