I've tried several times to flash the latest firmware however when it gets to 77% the flasher always aborts and displays the following error message:

Failed to write data to the device. (code 7)

I really have to get this to work as my 770 doesnt boot anymore, only the USB update mode works.

Any ideas

I would try to redownload the nokia.bin file maybe it is corrupt. Not that I would think it should make any difference, but try removing your mmc card. These have 1 year warranty, if the flash has become corrupt, it should be able to be replaced under warranty.

Good Luck!

Maybe try flashing from a different computer.

USB update mode works? I assume this means you hold the home button, and get the USB icon up? Are there any commands that the linux flasher has that might help you?
