Well at first glance it seems the invites were picked from first-wave 100€ preorders. Furthermore it seems they were picked based on the time the preorders were made. Many reports of the first ones being invited (including me). Not ultimate proof though, but it all points out to that direction.

This wasn't officially announced, right?
Benchmark results confirm Snapdragon 400 to be inside Jolla smartphone.

I saw Jolla responding to a tweet pointing to that, & saying it was specs already known/shared.

How would a browser benchmark confirm anything about hardware?

well, cloud is very popular word this days. I believe that it relates to some online services like real traffic data or weather or........ I don't know what else they have. I always use my nav off line, only turn by turn is all I need.

Nothing really exciting, though. The new FAQs at Jolla.com are more interesting.

What is the point of announcing a successor before selling the original device? You can only achieve lower sales of the first device and disappoint those who have already preordered.
For me, it is encouraging that Jolla are already planning further devices - and planning regular OS updates. This gives me hope, when compared to the Nokia N9, which seemed to be unloved / unsupported by it's own manufacturer.

I think ongoing, active support will make quite a difference. And also the foundations put in place by the Mer and Nemo communities.

So even if you aren't at the launch party, it should be many days until you get your Jolla

I find it interesting to note the following in Jolla's FAQ:

Can others who didn’t pre-order get the device before me?

All pre-order customers are being prioritized before everyone else, including all our international customers.

from those videos I seem to feel they should only let Mark Dillon do PR stuff, I get he isn't the CEO, but he has charisma and from what I can tell true passion about the product. Tomi Pienimäki may have the same but he just can't seem to deliver it as his english doesn't seem all amazing. Just my two cents.
