But the iPhone has CDMA support, also only used in those countries afaik.

4S 'world phone' is only valuable for one way roaming, i.e. people with cdma providers travelling out of their country. Pentaband works in two ways for people going to and from the US (and maybe Canada) and the GSM world. I don't believe you would roam on Verizon or Sprint (CDMA) if you went to the US with your EU iPhone 4S, it's a feature for North Americans only, and maybe the Japanese.

Agreed, not sure why N9 was given the "win" there afaq. The "Cellular" row doesn't really mean much. Nearly all phones on that list also have HSUPA (EUL) but they are simply not listed. Also N9s lack of HSDPA+ puts it quite behind the competition. The Galaxy S2 will win that row hands down, even if you were travelling to the US.

It is really useless to speak about HSUPA -speeds because 99 % of the time people wont even get to half of the promised max speed of the network.

Regardless, the CAPABILITY is there. The ONLY thing that sets apart the n9 is the pentaband.
The chart is biased. Please fix it.

Hence why I stated that row doesn't really mean much. The speeds may be useless if your contract caps your speed but not if it doesn't. Then again the extra band is just as useless since the missing 1700 is not a single used band in any country and is rather rare.

unpacked it installed it and ran it.
Waited for models to show up, Clicked on N9, firmware popped up as 10.2011.34.1 clicked on that then clicked on the variants and the variants all popped up then I clicked on the export pc list and copied and pasted it here.

Ohhh looky there. Philippine variants. That's what I get for relying on a google link instead of downloading navifirm and checking myself. Oh well, I already paid the guy in Denmark, can't back out now and I can't be for sure that it will release while I am there but I am sure it has been released in Denmark.

Still wondering why there are german and italian variants, if it will not be released there.

And why the same models and colors of Switzerland variant are listet two times with different product codecs? Maybe branded and no-brand?

Good news for US people it seems. Maybe we'll get our N9s without having to jump through a million loops and relying on friends of buddies of guys.

I do appreciate all those who have tried to help though. Hopefully we'll all get a chance to get this at a decent price.
