Hello,

i bought a n900 from ebay.
It its Made in Finland and has a qwerty keyboard.

i flashed this firmware files:

RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin
RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin

After that i installed CSSU Testing.

The Phone is working great. But the FM Transmitter is not Working.

I googled much, and tested tools like fmtx-faker but no success.

on commandline i get this message:

# /usr/sbin/fmtxd
fmtxd Could not open pilot tone frequency file: No such file or directory

can someone help me ?
I have a second n900 with the same firmware and theres no problem.. (qwertz german)

edit:
i will test uk firmware and us firmware... i think the error must be firmware related

edit2:
tested uk firmware without cssu.. same error

edit3: googled about 3 hours and found this, a guy withe the same problem.
but solution is not working (fmtx faker)

Sorry, my Italian is not that good to follow completely the linked thread.

But, if you already flashed again (hopefully in right oder: first vanilla, then combined?), it looks like a HW problem. Sorry.

fmtxd is working perfecly over here. [pr1.3(.1), no cssu, boosted fmtxd (but also stock is working).

The only possible suggestion I have for you, is:
shut down
pull battery
wait 30 seconds
push power button for >3 seconds
insert battery
boot
and test it again.
(I know it sounds weird but I had once similar problem and that was the only help!)

I wonder if the transmitter is detected at all? You need i2c-tools and v4l2-ctl
i2cdetect -r 2 - it should be UU on 0x63 address
v4l2-ctl --all -d /dev/radio0 - this should show few information about transmitter

When you have a hardware fault it should be noticed in syslog.

For example:

I2C driver for Si4713 FM Radio Transmitter
i2c_omap i2c_omap.2: controller timed out
.
.
radio-si4713 2-0063: Error while sending command 0x01
radio-si4713: probe of 2-0063 failed with error -121
With lsmod you should see the loaded module fmtx_si4713

lsmod shows the module active...

/sys/class/i2c-adapter/i2c-2/2-0063 exists

if i compare my working device with the non working, there a less files in this folder
