You can pull pulley menus from anywhere from screen.
Its app developer problem if they dont code it as it should work. I dont know if there is any guidelines by Jolla.

Except when you have a vertically scrolling content. File managers, email clients, media players, galleries, text editors, take your pick. You can reach the pulley only when you are at the top or when the app contains some kind of an "anchor" - but then you cannot pull the menu "from anywhere on the screen", you need to grab it by the anchor.

That is not the app developer's fault, that is the OS design fault.

This has been discussed a million times and Jolla and some of their users are in denial about that, which means nothing is going to change. So there is little point talking about it again. Not in this thread.

Excuse me but this is simply not true. I have checked every use case you are mentioning with Jolla's default apps and I can pull from anywhere on the screen in most cases. One exception is the gallery where I have to pull from the top half of the screen when I am viewing a picture.
Maybe you are using 3rd party apps but then it is not the OS design's fault.
So yes, we don't need to discuss it again but as usual you are the provocative one and maybe it's you that you are in denial.

I think you misread r0kk3rz' post, he gave pulley menus as an example of a way to solve reaching for the top of the screen.

You must have an enormous screen or almost nothing on your device, because there's no way to use the pulley menu without scrolling back to the top in Messages, Email, People, Notes, Clock, Calendar, Phone, Store, Media, Gallery or any other application which doesn't have an anchor. I don't understand why they still have not figured out a way to make it work if you're in the middle of a long list and don't want to lose your position.

Sure but this does not mean I have to physically extend my finger to the top of the screen which would be uncomfortable. Having to scroll to the top of the list so that a pulley menu is accessible is inconvenient but irrelevant to the screen size debate.

Anyway, back to the thread topic.

To get back to the subject:

Nicolas, from JollaFr just got the time to write some articles about what has been twitted/streamed already:
http://jollafr.org/demonstration-de-...atch-en-video/
http://jollafr.org/presentation-vide...s-sailfish-os/

Those are in French, so here is a translation of some chosen sentences which I have not yet seen in this thread:
About the Sailfish Watch, it is said:
Pour l’instant, tout n’est pas encore fonctionnel et il semblerait que les smartwatchs ne soient pas une priorité, car les ventes sont faibles.
Which would be translated by :
For now, not everything is functionnal, as smartwatchs are not a priority, due to low sales.
About the Sony Xperia-X:
Le portage de Sailfish OS pour le SONY Xperia X devrait être disponible d’ici fin juin 2017 via un lien de téléchargement sur le site officiel de SONY, puis, il se pourrait qu’une version du Xperia X sous Sailfish OS soit commercialisée.
Would be translated by:
Sailfish OS port for the SONY Xperia X should be available by June 2017 through a download link on Sony's official website. Then, an Xperia X with preloaded Sailfish Os could be sold.
Feel free to corrected my proposed translations if you see some mistakes in them.

I would not mind pay a small fee for the support. But those getting a FP2 now should get an option to install it from begining without fee.

Why? Because FP2 would maybe sell some more devices if they did. That's a win for all.

Sony, OTOH is a player of another tier. Having Sony for partner is importance of an order of magnitude greater than partnering with FP.
No this is just a history repeating itself == We will never see the device in the shop only a few geeks can buy it on ebay as the case with other so called collaborations.

That's why the better play with small playes like FP2. I bet they could get some more attention doing that than collaborate with big players where no one except a few geeks on maemo will buy it.

I am sorry sound negative but I have my doubt.....

Clearly Fairphone thought it was not worth doing, and considering they are struggling to survive right now I guess it would have spread them a little too thin.
That is exactly WHY fairphone should ship with SFOS. Win Win for all.
