Hello all

I recently tried to install kernel-modules-extra and it failed with "read-only filesystem". And indeed my /lib/modules is symlinked to /mnt/initfs/lib/modes and this is mounted read-only.

This was after a reflash and installing bootmenu. I don't recall having had such problems before.

It that the way it is supposed to be?
There are several packages which install kernel modules, how on earth is this supposed to work?

Why is /lib/modules symlinked at all? Please show the complete output of
Code:
mount
to see which partition might be mounted to /mnt/initfs/lib. Where is the package kernel-modules-extra from?

This is on an n810. So usually /lib/modules is not symlinked? Could it be that bootmenu did something special here. I could simply copy the modules to /lib/modules/... but I want to know what happened here.

The mount command returns:
/dev/root on /mnt/initfs type jffs2 (ro)

strange enough there is no /dev/root.

The kernel-modules are from http://repository.maemo.org/ diablo/tools free. The package is actually called "kernel-diablo-modules-extra"
