I do not know any image recognition program for N900.
If one would exist, how should it hand over the results to Google?

The logo stuff could be done with OCR (for simple logos).
Btw. what happened to tesseract? ( http://forums.internettablettalk.com...ight=tesseract )

Couldn't this be achieved via geo-tagging?

Take the pic with geo-tagging enabled, then submit the resulting GPS data to a search engine and away you go.

I reckon you could also do it if the building displayed a QR Code on it's sign.
Just like you would when scanning product bar codes with mBarcode.

No, I think he's referring to Google Goggles. As far as I know, its Android only. The image gets uploaded to Google and the OCR (or image recognition) is done in the cloud. Don't know if it works with NITDroid, but can't see a reason it wouldn't. Anyone care to try?

I stand corrected.

On 5 October 2010, Google announced availability of Google Goggles for iPhone devices, that run iOS 4.0.

Try NITDroid...

Nokia makes this product, it is called Nokia Point & Find. But it's not available on Maemo, only Symbian.
