So what happened .... did we kill this project ?

no its still active, and the old brainstorm is too.

Just as an update, I actually started a project, titled OpenGAN related to this task. I put the project on Sourceforge instead of maemo.org, as it is potentially useful for other entities outside of Maemo.

Unfortunately, I lost access to the machine that storing my sourcecode before I had the chance to upload it (there wasn't much, but it still hurt). So that project page is just a skeleton.

Printed out, the spec is the size of a phonebook, so there is lots of code that can be fleshed out without any knowledge of how to integrate it into maemo. My priority on getting this written is pretty low right now, but if I could get some interest/support from another SW developer, that priority would probably go up for me.
