Hi ,
This is a sort of doubt thats been playing in my mind for a little while.
As i have understood,n900 supports cdma.
I am from india, here USB MODEMS are recently well available in market, the usb modems use cdma sim cards. They off speedy internet in cheap rates than GSM.(what i have now).
My question is, can i insert that cdma sim in my n900 and use the internet facility?

First you need to know that cdma and gsm are two different things.

How can you put cdma on a gsm phone

lemme make it a little more clear.
Normaly with this modem we plug and browse in desktop, laptop, notebook, netbook, whatever after instaling its software.but in this case which i am asking, here i take out the sim card from the modem and put it inside the phone.then i goto status bar and take internet connection and then connect to the connection available.after that the data network symbol blinks and get connected.
Now i open microB,DOESNT WORK,open opera DOESNT WORK, open availability DOESNT WORK...

As has been said before, gsm is in no way compatible with cdma.

You can try using your usb modem with the n900 via h-e-n. You will need to provide external power for the modem as n900 will not provide enough drive for it.

I'm not sure how to solve the issue of zerocd/modeswitch as some cdma modems depend on it. If you are lucky, your modem will just be recognized. All that will be left is to set up the rules for the data connection.
