It's your choice. The program does nothing but packaging.
So from what I get, your source should be something like:
Code:
/source/home/user/MyDocs/gameData
/source/other/folders/in/here
/source/DEBIAN/control
This produces a .DEB which extracts its contents, gameData to ./MyDocs, and other folders you put to their respective places.

Just edited my previous post, with zenity works great!

EDIT: almost great, displays 3 letters of folder name (I assume) and wastes 15+ on telling me it was created on wednesday :/, or it's just funny file system view, 'N900' works ok, strange)

Yeah, wonder if it was designed for WIN/FAT systems, all ext2/3 folders and partitions give at most 4 chars for file/folder names and waste rest on date, workable though definitely

Exactly. Extracting a .deb does not produce the /DEBIAN directory and the control file. You should extract the .deb to a folder, then in the folder create the /DEBIAN directory with 755 permissions and the control file in it with 755 permissions too.

Here check: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=80914 STEP 8
