Here's a review of the N800 ProClip holder by Thoughfix some time back:

just ordered this off ebay worth a punt at £10 !!
Will let you guys know what its like.
I ordered one of these, and it arrived yesterday, and I am SO SO freakin impressed!!

the unit is compact, sturdy and holds the phone really well. I ordered from the same guy in the link above, and it arrived next day.

I can't tell you how happy I am with this item, and thank you so much to davemoir for posting this little gem! I was about to waste £40 on a brodit one, and this does the job just as well if not better.
  • The suction clip is really tight, so I doubt it will fall off the window or anything daft
  • There is a little latch on one side of the unit which enables you to easily slide the unit into the cradle

  • The little 'lips' on each side of the unit ensure that the phone will never fall out the front of the cradle
  • The whole thing is adjustable by pressing in the buttons and tilting the componant to the desired location - this works really well

  • I presonally keep mine in landscape mode, but here is how it looks in portrait:

If anyone needs any more 'real life' pictures let me know and I'll see what I can do, but the images on ebay should give you a good idea.

It's called the 'AIO PREMIUM CAR HOLDER & CHARGER FOR NOKIA N900 UK' and I can't wait for maps to be released now!

I got the "Charging Holder with Tilt Swivel and Cigarette Lighter Adapter" through yesterday.

I'm very impressed with the holder - the N900 fits in very well and is held securely, with the USB connection fitting perfectly. You can open and close the screen while it's in the holder as well.

I'm far less impressed with their mounting mechanism though - using 4 screws to connect the holder to the mount. Why not have some sort of a clip? That way the holder can be easily removed when not in use (or you could move the holder between cars, boats, planes, wherever you're wanting to use it). In addition to that, one of the mount clips broke while I was trying to fit it, so I'm now going to have to chase up a replacement

The Pro Clips are the same as Brodit?

If that is the case i have the passive mount and it is very well made and works well. The fact that you can operate the keyboard too whilst it is mounted is a big plus for me. However it is a tight fit so you have to line up the N900 fairly acuratly and I doubt it would work with any case cover.

See more here.

Yes - if you look at the "About Us" page on the ProClip site, it says they're the North American distributor for Brodit.

For UK users. I've just found this website.

http://www.car-mounts.co.uk/

And for Charging Holder with Tilt Swivel and Cigarette Lighter Adapter and the mount for my car it's coming in at a reasonable £49.90 (£15.65 + £34.25)!

I think I know what I'll be purchasing in the near future!
