OK, firstly I would like to apologise, but the Maemo 5 update is showing me the same version number (20.2010.36-2) and is showing as 0 kB, so it looks like it is not new and cannot even be installed!!!

It is possible that a package or component on your phone, one of the core files or applications has been damaged or altered - if you have patched anything for example, like with a newer version of Modest (the email program) which someone has built then the phone will show up a Maemo update.

I'm happy for the thread to be closed too. I didn't start it to get anyone's hopes up or gain attention, but to find out why a Maemo update was showing in my Application Manager.

After investigation, it appears that something to do with my PR 1.3 update is now missing which now makes the phone think that it was not installed correctly.

Again, I apologise to anyone that thinks I was posting for amusement, as I was actually looking to get some advice and feedback.

Not sure how you're getting that update.. Possibly something wrong with your system? Or BS?

Either way.

Open xterm:

Code:
sudo apt-get upgrade
& then
sudo apt-get update
That should get rid of it from HAM/FAM.

Enjoy
