You have to be careful with Amazon, they've got the n900 listed twice in their database. Rm42 gave the link to the better entry; here's the not-so-good one from an Amazon associate retailer:

This doesn't mean that they have 8 new units in stock, it means you can purchase the item new through Amazon from 8 different sources (including Amazon itself).

Just wanted to mention that I am now working on my second N900 and I am thrilled. I used BackupMenu to transfer all my applications and setting from my old N900 to the new one. It worked perfectly, but you do have to enable the power kernel again yourself. The battery seems to be lasting a lot longer now. Maybe my old battery was just a bit worn by now.

The new device is almost identical to the old one except for the keyboard. The new one has a more gritty surface, which feels very nice actually. The old one is being sent to a Nokia repair center for having the USB port replaced. I am going to be using the new one for the next year and expect to have the USB replaced sometime next winter before the warranty expires. I will then switch to the old device and run it to the ground. Then do the same with the other one. Surely, by then, if this world is still around, a worthy and desirable replacement should exist. For now, the N900 does everything I need and more, much more.

You are one brave man for wanting to own two N900s. I guess my experience differs from yours and I would not wish the N900 on my worst enemy. Good luck.

Brave? On the contrary, I played it safe. I went with what I know. Brave would have been to hold out in the hopes that the N950 or some other device appears that manages to be as good or better than the N900. At the moment there is nothing like it that I can see.

I posted some of the things I would be looking for on a replacement for my N900 here:

For a little while I installed QCPUFreq and overclocked it to 950, I believe. However, after the device crashed while recording some video, I decided to remove it and go back to the 'ideal' setting (850). I plan to stay whit that since it is plenty fast for me.
