Though, I have heard stuff about :
- Take battery out for 10 min
- Hold your download mode combination and put battery back in
- Once screen flickers once - stop holding power button, but keep rest.
- Phone should boot to download mode.
- Use odin
Happily i got 3 button combo - didn't you read about not playing with your phone if it doesn't have 3 button combo ??? ):
sure, i read ... after i screwed the phone

it's my first contact with android, it seemed that you can fix everything ... see, even you were saying that it's bricked only when it's hardware damaged

nice there is a sticky thread on xda now, for those like me ... unfortunatelly i hurried to get froyo. it installed well, but it was slow and few things (google related) were not working ... so i cleaned some cache and rebooted and that was the end of it

WOW

Im back, I started this thread on the 2nd of August and now its 18 October.

Now that I have finlaly installed Froyo 2.2 on my Galaxy S I can proudly say that its the most powerful and best phone so far.

I can finally watch Flash 10.1 videos in high res and do the screen justice.

The web browser feels alot faster and so does thw whole phone, I have not come across any lag or hangup.

Samsung Galaxy S is the better phone.

You sound a bit in denial, there is lag in 2.2 as well, but thanks god we have CFlagfix and soon voodoo.

It requires a hard reset.

Simply go to keypad and type *2767*3855#

It will reset everything and hopefully work like it should

After I updated to Froyo it did the same thing, so I then hard reset the phone on Froyo , now everything works without problem.

Just some info about Galaxy S FM Radio Receiver (Not Transmitter cause there is none) :

Used to be mono, in Version JPM/JP6 it became stereo, and besides that it's quality is crap.
When I say quality I mean output quality of the sound it produces.
Check out this document I write for more info : http://tinyurl.com/noise-sgs

Slender,
At least they are not holding every bit and byte in their safe like Nokia does. They are releasing constant updates via samfirmwares.com (leaks).
Personally, I'm using a Custom ROM based on a leak, and my phone is fast, stable, battery lasts full 2 days with EVERYTHING enabled.
When I say everything, i mean :
  • GMAIL PUSH
  • GPS
  • Bluetooth
  • Wifi + 3G when not near Wifi
  • Screen Brightness on full
  • Live wallpaper
  • Auto Rotation

I prefer Samsung's way of dealing with everything 10 times over Nokia's way.
Samsung are taking user input, and incorporating fixes into their own code. They are doing a great job.

Oh dear. Iīm not trying to say that your precious is somewhat bad Iīm trying to point out that grass is not any greener on the other side. Trying to make point with leaked images is well fundamentally twisted way of seeing things when we are talking about things in large scale..

Samsung just have failed to meet the timeframe what they have announced. Simple as that. And community supports small amount of power users who are able and eager to try the meanest and leanest stuff. (pretty much same applies to maemo :|)

Looking comments from Samsung users who are waiting for official firmware is just well..dejavu of whining here in TMO.

.edit
And btw. be careful with that ad-talk style. Maybe itīs just me but users who like to share their delight (includes religious people) with devices that they have fallen love (n900,iPhone or whatever) gives me chills. I do not trust them Still itīs of course very humane to share happiness
