Hi. I am uisng Claws-Mail with IMAP. I have subfolders on the server side, but Claws does not seem to recognize them. I do not see any option within Claws where I can tell it that the server supports folders with subfolders.

Any idea how I can get Claws to work with subfolders on the server?

Thanks!

Go to File > Synchronize folders.

Hi. Thanks for your response. File > Synchronise folders is greyed out regardless of where I am in the folder tree.

Maybe you are looking for:

Configuration > Preferences for current account > Receive
Untick option: Show subscribed folders only.
press 'apply' and then 'close'

Maybe you need after to do also:
tap and hold on the root of your account and a menu will pop.
Choose from there: Rebuild folder tree

I tried your suggestions. But now I'm in a world of claws-hurt!

I tried rebuilding the folder tree. It ran for quite some time (2 hours) and then bailed out. The result was that while subfolders were now visible, only a small portion of the folder tree was visible and (most importantly!) my Inbox was no longer visible.

After playing around with it with no success, I decided to just uninstalll and re-install Claws-mail and start over again. But when I reinstall Claws, it comes back with the previous configuration rather than a clean slate! I even tried deleting the folders that Claws-mail created, uninstall it, reboot the machine, and re-install. It still doesn't come back clean.

So, now I have no idea what to do.

Where are you storing those messages? If they are too many and you are storing them in the flash this might be a problem.

After the uninstall, remove the .claws-mail folder.

it must be something like:
rm -r /home/user/.claws-mail

In the next install you'll start clean..

Thanks for the tip regarding a clean re-install.

I am storing the message son a 4Gb card that is only 20% full so I think that's not the problem.

did you try what Saturn said:

Configuration > Preferences for current account > Receive
Untick option: Show subscribed folders only.
press 'apply' and then 'close'

Looks like a folder-subscription issue to me.
