uboot is conflicting with powerkernel
There's another u-boot with PowerKernel47 compatibility in the repos. Enable all repos and do a search for simply "uboot" or "u-boot". The one with the Tux icon is the one.

Contacts entry worked ok for me.
Added a few including landline, mobile and email addresses.

Seemed a bit flakey on saving, but when I went back into contacts, they were all there.

they didn;t appear via the link to contact in the dialler UI, only "me" comes up there.

Have rebooted, dialler app now hanging and failing to respond, so unable to confirm if contacts are now coming up via dialler.

system seems a bit more responsive.

My advise... if you haven't already, set up user profile on bugs.meego and troll the bugs list. If you don;t see anyting resembling your issues, raise a bug report!

It means installation is difficult and you can risk wrecking your N900 and once you get it running you'll notice basic functions you might assume are there not present. Such as: making calls, having an addressbook with names and difficulties in entering text because of unfinished virtual keyboards and unfinished hardware keyboard layout support.

Stay away for now.

ive been wasting a lot of time searching but havent come up with any actual instructions. so instead of just telling me to search, would anyone happen to have a link to instructions on how to use multiboot for meego 1.2 + maemo + nitdroid? thanks

I don't believe it is possible at the moment to triple boot Maemo, NITdroid and MeeGo, one of the reasons I haven't tried MeeGo yet. I use backupmenu which is incompatible.

This is a very good point though - maybe take-up would increase if someone could work on a way to multi-boot MeeGo this way, or make backupmenu/NITdroid work with uboot which I believe is the better boot method?

There is a modified version of BackupMenu which works under multiboot.

So it is possibile to boot Maemo (PR1.3 or Power Kernel) + Nitdroid + BackupMenu with multiboot and then boot MeeGo with U-Boot (I doubt it is possibile to easy boot MeeGo with MultiBoot).

But U-Boot and MultiBoot can be combined so you can already make a quad boot system.
