try cs102.msg.mud.yahoo.com (was working at the time I post this)

Also, can someone point me where I can find detailed instructions on how to update the host file. I'm a newbie with all of this, so any help would be appreciated.

Tks so much for your solution.

Network error

A ping to scs.msg.yahoo.com confirms hostname is still resolving to 66.163.181.166

We can't amend hostname in RTComm from scs.msg.yahoo.com to cs101.msg.mud.yahoo.com, but we can spoof DNS...

Add the following line to your /etc/hosts file (after making backup of course!!!)

Code:
66.163.181.166 scs.msg.yahoo.com
Can u explain me step by step how to do this?.....thanks

As a spam prevention measure, the private message feature of Talk is only available to those who have posted five or more messages.

Too bad we can't install nano or gedit to be able to edit the hosts file directly, or at least not that I know of.

Thanks. I didn't know that was the case. Also, it seems like the servers are starting to get upgraded one-by-one. It's only a matter of time until there's no Yahoo! support on Pidgin unless someone compiles a new version.

Anyone found a way to get it working again yet?
