hello,

a just purchase a nokia n800 and i don't know how to install applications on the memory card.

i install a few and i see that the app are install automatically in the internal memory.

i shearched something about this on this forum but i found nothing.

You can't install apps on memory card, unless you're booting from it.

BTW, it's not very smart to post a new thread with subject like "a question" or "a newbie question" or "what's going on?" or "is it possible?" or even.. "hmm..."
Aside from being rather annoying, you would get much less response on it. A subject should convey what the thread is all about.

Well the easy answer is you can't

can't what do you mean can't, how stupid blah blah blah

ok Shock over, What you can do is setup boot from SD/mmc card which will allow you to take full advantage of this space, minus the 250MB of flash you will need to copy to SD in order to boot....


Try searching for some boot from SD/mmc threads...

Couldn't they just create a proper filesystem, install via dpkg --root, and then run after chroot or something?

That answer would be more fun
