Ari was apparently very aware of the audio shortcomings of earlier tablets and wanted to address them in the N900. Thus, the high-quality TI headphone amplifier. I doubt there will be any noticeable noise.

I would like to receive clarifications to the aspect ratio of the N900. It has been mentioned several time that it has an aspect ratio of 16:9, but with the resolution of 800 x 480 equals to an aspect ratio of 1.67:1 and not the usual 1.78:1 (or 16:9). I believe that WVGA usually refers to 854 x 480 which has the correct 16:9 aspect ratio. But I could be wrong.

Then again, the pixels might not be perfectly square or the spacing between the pixels might be slightly larger horizontally compared to vertical spacing.

Of course this is not very important at all, but I would like to know anyway. Obviously I could simply measure it from a picture of N900, but I'm much too lazy for that...

from my desktop computer knowledge, if they say; "up to 16M colours" then the screen is 6bit with dithering, whereas the statement; "provides 16.7M colours" indicates a true 8bit per colour channel screen.

Same as every other tablet, 15:9.

Thanks

So it means for 16:9 videos there will be small borders on top and bottom... Or maybe with a little zooming one could get rid of those.

If only there was some kind of software which made that straight forward ;-)

I have a question for those who have tested the N900:
What is the sound quality with in-ear headphones with an impedance of 16ohm?
