There are a lot of people I would consider a Core Community Member for one reason or another either because they develop software/themes for the community, or because they are very active on forums/message boards and help when ever they can. We all know who these people are and most of these people do this because they want to help the community not because they want something from it.

At least several of these Core Members wont be able to make it to the summit this year but it would be nice to see them be able to get a shirt from the summit. This would be just a small token of appreciation from the community to these members. Some times its nice to know your work means something.

Great idea. I would also like to propose that the shirts be 'green' somehow. At FOSDEM debian sold organic cotton shirts which was a big hit.
