I have recently flashed my system and installed CSSU-thumb. As I ran into an issue regarding an update, I looked for a good respository overview and could not find one.

Thus, my suggestion to please sort it out - and to which I ask to receive your comments to this thread:

Which repositories to use for which Fremantle flavour?

And there are the traditional ones that come pre-installed with the system - they stay there even after adding the repositories of, e.g., CSSU-Thumbs.

I plan to add 3 postings following this one, wherein I can gather the information what is the right repository to use. At the end, this should possible go into the Wiki.

How to find the list of repositories in the terminal:
Code:
cat /etc/sources.list
cat /etc/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list
and possibly
Code:
cat /etc/sources.list.d/external_repos.list
Or via Program Manager - the list of catalogs

Thread results shown here:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Standard repositories
TO BE COMPLETED
  • CSSU-Thumb (see #13)
  • CSSU-Stable (see #14)
  • CSSU-Testing
  • Standard Fremantle

Additional repositories
Navit (Posting #8)

I thought to create a same thread as sometimes i get confused too though now i feel a wiki page would be better to create regarding all the variants at one place and also listing some other repos like bokomoko.de for navit joergs repo etc

I am with you - at the end a wiki page ist best to keep the information. As soon as something like this is exists, I will link to it from posting #1.

There is (yet) nothing available. So to gather the repositorie information for the first time, a discussion thread hopefully elicits more people to participate.

All additional variants - such as the navit one - are welcome.Could you list the full information for the repository from your sources.list file?

There are many external repos still kicking but they contain duplicate version or older versions also we need to avoid them for example my maemo.org repo and couple of others like that we should make sure only sane ones should get to the list

So here I copied over the posting from the CSSU-Thumbs thread (see http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...stcount=2115):

Is this an erroneous setup for CSSU thumbs or not?

--------------------------------------------

Can somebody please let me know which repositories should be used for CSSU-Thumb2?

(I could not find a wiki entry and only brief remarks in this thread about this and that repository that should be used.)

This is my current list
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/hildon-application-manager.list

Code:
deb http://repository.maemo.org/community-testing/ fremantle free non-free
deb http://maemo.merlin1991.at/cssu/community-devel/ fremantle free non-free
deb http://maemo.merlin1991.at/cssu/community-thumb/ fremantle free non-free
deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/apps/ ./
deb https://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/mr0 ./
deb http://repository.maemo.org/extras/ fremantle-1.3 free non-free
deb http://maemo.merlin1991.at/cssu/community-thumb/ fremantle free non-free
deb http://extras-devel.merlin1991.at/ fremantle free non-free
I also have these repositories active, as I experimented with compiling on the N900:

Code:
#Dev Tools
deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/sdk free non-free
deb-src http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/sdk free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/tools free non-free
deb-src http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/tools free

/etc/apt/preferences:

Code:
Package: *
Pin: release a=community-thumb
Pin-Priority: 700

Package: *
Pin: release a=Extras-devel-light
Pin-Priority: 500

Package: *
Pin: release l=Extras
Pin-Priority: 550

Package: *
Pin: release l=community-testing
Pin-Priority: 600
