hai estel, have you try SMTube, i use it regulary as cutetube replacement. i run it on windows. but smtube is opensource so it must available on other platform

Video Download Helper is a Firefox plugin I use for, err, downloading videos 
It supports YouTube and about two dozen other websites. Not fully-featured like cuteTube but should at least eliminate the crazy "watch on the PC, download on the N900" situation.

Does anyone know a GUI program for *desktop* (linux) that ressembles features of our Maemo's CuteTube, aka downloading things from youtube-alike sites (at least dailymotion and vimeo, apart from youtube), but also search them, browse comments, related videos, etc?
I've tried various things (from standalone programs to firefox extensions), but none of them seems as feature complete as our Maemo's CuteTube. Which creates a quite silly situation that - when watching something interesting on Desktop and wanting to download it, I grab N900 and download it there, instead.
