I got where was the problem. Length of ringtune filename was too long (about 15 words per 6 letters), when I renamed it - crashes had gone.

I believe I also experienced this issue, and IIRC this is fixed by directly editing ~/.profiled/custom.ini or just use another ringtone (happened quite long time ago, so I forgot the detail)

so the solution that you posted just now might be the right answer for others you've experienced this as well
