I keep pressing this stupid key on the hildon keyboard so many times every day.

It brings up the stupid language text input thingy and I just wasted yet another 10 seconds of my stupid life trying to close it.

Is there anyway to hack this key so it's devoid of all the unhappines it brings me?

The control panel plugins are are all stored in /usr/lib/hildon-control-panel/*.so files. Go find the file for that plugin, rename it, and control panel might silently fail when trying to open it. If you ever need to change any of those settings just rename the file back.

Simple trick: Set both languages in that window to the same one
