Hi,

I've encountered some errors with NFC in 1.3, or atleast the problems started when i upgraded to 1.3.

When upgrading from 1.2 -> 1.3 NFC was enable, but after the post-upgrade reboot i couldn't enable NFC again. In settings when trying to enable NFC I got a message similar to "Could not enable NFC".

I'm attaching the syslog excerpt with the events trying to enable NFC. The events are rouhgly: Unluck phone, settings -> enable NFC, wait for fail, put phone down.

I've tried the most basic apt-get update, --fix-missing etc but i have no idea which package nfc is part of. I bet it's called something like nfclib though =P

So the question is, has anyone encountered this error before or can anyone directly tell me the library/package containing the nfc-stuff?

This happened to me too like when I tic the NFC to on, it will just go back to off and say Could not enable. I just rebooted and it worked like charm. dunno why. try it

Thanks, cold reboot did it.

I had tried rebooting (shell>> reboot as root) but that didn't do it =P

In short: Turn device off (power button), leave it off for a while, 10-15 sec, to ensure that any residual charge in the tx/rx modules is gone, boot it up again an voila

hi!
cold reboot did it NOT for me :-((

1. when i switch on the button in the settings it turns off automatically, somtimes i get a message like "nfc start failes.." (in german..).
in this cases, the syslog says:

Hi wvrn,

I have no idea on this issue but try eliminating possible issues? Try a re-install of all the nfc related packages as follows:

apt-get install libnfcctl libnfcflib libnfchal libnfcstack nfcd --reinstall

tnx for the fast reply!
i've reinstalled and gave a cold shutdown (for at least 1 minute) but no effect. it still failes to start nfc.
