My power jack on my N800 is toast. It just wore out. The little pin in the middle of it broke off. I did the mod where power is routed from the USB to the power jack (installed the jumper) but it doesn't charge up at all really (I checked and the usb puts out 5 volts and the charger puts out 6.3 volts).

The tablet really needs 6.3 volts at a decent amount of current to charge these batteries. I could really use a replacement power jack. Anyone know where I can get one for a reasonable amount? It's a snap-in; I can easily install it if I can get one. I am currently recharging using an external charger I got off ebay.

When mine broke, I simply went to my neighborhood cell phone dealer and found another Nokia 6.3v charger from the used charger bin. Total cost $10US, so I bought 2, on for work and one for home. Never had a problem with either.

I'm talking about the power jack, on the N800, not the charger. My charger works fine. It just won't charge the N800 directly any more, since the jack is broke.

Any old Nokia cell phones that use the same jack, that I might get for cheap off ebay?

According to AccessoryLink, the N800 uses the same DC jack as:

You may try buying this:

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.29208

and take it apart. For 3$ including shipping, it may be worth trying.

A must have accessory for future N900 owners...
It's supposed to be a genuine nokia part, really doubtful though.

Its been a while since I posted.

My N810 has been broken for a while now. But I have a new N900 arriving tomorrow.

Meanwhile I think it may be time to fix the N810. The pin in the power connector broke. Would anyone have any idea where I may be able to order a replacement power connector.

I am thinking that I would like to use this device to test MER etc.

You're looking for Nokia part # 5469951, which is referred to variously as the "DC jack", "charge port", "charging block", and a range of other names.

Don't limit yourself to looking for a "N810 part". Nokia uses the same jack in a wide range of devices--nearly everything with a 2mm charging port, it seems. I've seen the 5469951 listed as used in at least the following: 2865i, 3110c, 3109c, 3500c, 3155i, 5070, 5200, 5300, 5700, 6070, 6080, 6085, 6086, 6101, 6102, 6102i, 6103, 6111, 6120c, 6121c, 6124c, 6125, 6126, 6131, 6133, 6136, 6151, 6155i, 6220c, 6233, 6234, 6265i, 6267, 6270, 6280, 6282, 6290, 6300, 6300i, 6301, 6555, 7500 Prism, 7360, 7370, 7373, 7390, 770, E50, E65, E61, E61i, E62, E66, N70, N71, N72, N73, N77, N80, N81-1, N81-3, N82, N800, N810, N810 WiMAX Edition, N90, N91, N92, N93i, N95, N95 8GB, N95-4.

If nothing else, you might be able to pick up a dead Nokia phone inexpensively on Ebay and scavenge the part.

EDIT: The thread "N810 Part search power connector" with two posts (including this one) has been merged into this thread.

Anyone who has done this (replaced the charge port on a n800) have any advice? I just bought the DC jack part, and would like to replace it myself.
