Hi,

As Fremantle has a bunch of pkgs which are free and Harmattan's counterparts are paid, it'd be nice to have usable compatibility. This thread should give the developers info, what is to be done, and what already works.

I'll update the OP if something meaningful is shared in the thread.

Much Fremantle stuff is foss and the rest could be somehow redistributed (as qgil said some time ago, Nokia'd probably have nothing against)

1. C(++): Qt apps
* Qt Hildon Components - no idea
* org.maemo.fremantle - guess a symlink would be sufficient
* plain Qt - there are two ways out
  • a buggy meegotouch-qt-style - this Segfaults right now, but if it's fixed, it'll give native-looking style but will the rotation work as expected?
  • in Maemo Qt we have QMaemo5Style in src/gui/styles. Maybe this can be build under Harmattan and wrapped into a QStylePlugin?
* Others (no idea which)
2. C(++): Gtk apps - I was trying a little with libhildon
* libgtk - OK in the community repos
* libhildon1 - Builds I managed to build it, no idea whether it'll work
* libosso
* more...
* no one can be sure whether it'll work ok
3. Python ones
* python-hildon
* probably more...
4. Other ones
* many libraries which are used (but it'll have to be done once basic apps run out there)

If someone has experience about QStylePlugin, you're encourage to try to port the style.

If anyone contributes anything, I'll update the post.
