I opened a poll today about political affiliation but it got shut down.
I however 'blame' myself entirely for not having read the TOS in enough details and, believe it or not, appreciate the speedy resolution/closing of the thread. A forum is not a democracy.

Moderation here IS improving (and yes, I am being serious and honest!).

Moved to Community where discussion belongs.

And again, I am truly sorry for having to close that thread.

EDIT: oops, I closed the political poll, not religion one. Not sure who took care of that...

A label like fascism really doesn't generally apply to a discussion forum, despite what some may like to think.

It's just a talk forum, setup by someone, paid for by someone, managed by someone. Those someones get to establish guidelines. Enforcing such guidelines doesn't make anyone fascist, just as posting whatever one feels doesn't make them an anarchist.

Kindly note http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/forum/ . Also note this community is essentially open and that Nokia wants to avoid as much corporate "tainting" as possible.

There are other nokia-owned forums too.

I was a bit rude, sorry, do not want to offend anyone and respect the moderators effort.
It's only that deleting instead of closing seems so drastic!

I'm puzzled, why wasn't the first thread moved here.

Or maybe it can be moved here?

The first thread wasn't moved here because it is in violation of the board's rules, not just off-topic. Off-topic mentions it in its description because it is such a recurring event.

Religion has no place in the Community sub-forum. If anything, it ought to be in off-topic (so bonus points for the thread starters to putting it in the right place to start with), but the rules prevent them either way.

But, I'm sure that polling about it will result in the major part against them.
Not really. As a member of society in a democratic context, you don't get to make polls and influence decisions at the highest levels. Only elected politics do that, and then again only according to very specific rules.

But regardless of that, this forum isn't a democracy. Yes, it is autocratic, yes, you can label it fascist all you want, that won't change the outcome, though.

PS: Show me one person who was punished on tmo for calling the moderators or admins fascists. Show me one single fascist government where the government wouldn't punish citizens that cried out.

I think we're due for world war iii just so the kids (these days...) understand the true meanings of freedom...
