In this case there was a limited supply and LOW demand, and prices went south. You can pick up these phones on amazon for under $500.

The answer is therefore: Poor sales.
You can compare yourself the price of a N9 and a Lumia where the two are available from the same store. For example in Switzerland, digitec.ch list today the N9-00 range from CHF 449 (black 16G) to CHF 629 (white 64G). At the same time there list the Lumia range from CHF 316 (710 black 16G) to CHF 499 (800 white 16G).

You according to your rules, the answer is that N9 sell here more than Lumia.

expansys in UK seems to be selling out N9 every 2 weeks, they get around 30 each week and by the end of the second week they are all gone, so clearly the demand is fine

Not to hijack, but if anyone in the Bay Area wants a used black 16GB (3 months old) N9 (made in china, Singapore (singtel) version, de-branded and reflashed with New Zealand PR 1.1), I am selling mine. I live in Singapore and I will be visiting the US soon, and I wanted to give first preference to US TMO-ers, seeing as it's not easily available there. I'll make a thread in the Buy / Sell forum as well after my travel dates are finalized.

As for me, I bought a 64GB N9 and I couldn't be happier

So which company is better? Newegg or Negri Electronics?
Thanks

Have not dealt with Negri, but I can assure you'll get your phone from Newegg FAST. Personally, if warranty is the same, I would go with Newegg, once they have the model you want.

Warranty wise, I doubt you'll get manufacturer's warranty from either. You'll have to buy "international version", which cost more, on Amazon, for example.

I've seen somebody on this forum saying that Negri ships your phone back to Hong Kong for warranty repairs.
