Hi all,

this sounds crazy.. but why there is not support of portrait mode for address book.. when its already available when we access contact list from phone function...? is it a bug?

also the contact list portrait mode gives nice quick navigation (abc, def, ghi..) functionality why its not provided for landscape mode.. please dont its say coz of keyboard or the small area..

i guess it gives quick navigation which is keyboard independent.. also small screen area in landscape mode can managed with small font or clubbing more than 3 alphabets...

what ur comments on this all maemo warriors..

I was thinking the same too since long but don't post it here though. Thanks for posting it.

I don't understand why the "contacts" app can't be accessed in portrait mode while it can be from the "phone" function.

Is there any hack to enable portrait mode for the "contacts" app...

I tried this just now and this doesn't work for me. I am on PR 1.2. No custom kernels or anything.

And again "not supported" does not mean "does not work" somehow!
SSC (dialing #xx#phonenumber stuff) isn't supported too... but you are able to activate the functionality.
These issues are yet for another release, portrait browsing was available in 1.1 but not supported. BTW missing sort buttons like you have in phone mode make it less usable (for now).
