Hi All,

I need to take an intensive Latin course this semester and really need a flashcard program for my N800 running OS2008. I tried Granule back when I had OS2007, but it isn't yet available for OS08. Does anyone out there know of a flashcard program that works in OS08? Or is anyone with the know-how willing to port Granule to OS08?

I have managed to compile things in Linux before but never anything for Maemo. I don't have the slightest idea how to do it. Is there a guide out there?

Thanks to anyone who can help me in any of these ways!

Cheers,
Adam

I have the same problem, I used a lot Granule in OS2007 days but since I upgraded it... nothing, so I'm sticking with traditional flashcards... I though about doing my own basic software but don't have enough time to do it... Hope someone will port again Granule to OS2008

Hi folks,

I put a request in to Vlad at granule.sourceforge.net shortly after OS2008 was released asking for port. He was buried in coding the next release (1.3) at the time, but has since replied that he is working on the port and it will be available soon once he has ironed out the major wrinkles (there looks to be a pre-release deb file there also). You can check the feature request on the granule site for more news, although I'll post back here when it's released if no one else does first.

It's a great program for these tablets, so thanks to Vlad for the support!

Although not written for the tablet, there is a flashcard program that has been ported to it.

It runs as a mini webserver and you connect to it with your web browser. You have to launch it from the command line to start it.

Granule 1.3.0 has been made available for N800/N810 running OS2008 in extras-chinook repository. You can install it with one-click install from the OS2008 catalog at maemo.org > Downloads > Education > flashcards(granule) [1]

Feel free to cast your usability vote while you are at it.

Bug reports and feature requests can be filed via regular http://granule.sourceforge.net/ channel [2]

You probably need to do two things. Go to the repositories and search for those by name: http://tinyurl.com/2tqc6q

and then you probably have to go into Red Pill Mode -- google it and get surprised. And remember, as I was once told, to go back to Blue Pill Mode when you're done, since the matrix can be a very dangerous place.

toMOTko is available for Diablo. And I'm porting it to Fremantle now. The Fremantle version is not finished yet but it's functional. If you want to give a try, your feedback would be appreciated.
